Holiday Wine and Food Pairing 4

Hi Maria here from Parallel 44 Winery and Door 44 Winery. We’re talking holiday food wine pairing with amazing Wisconsin wine. The holiday meal, so many different flavors…what are you gonna do? You got this guy, the turkey, you’ve got these guys, the cranberries, got squash, green bean casserole, stuffing.. so many different flavors! People think I need just one wine to pair with all of this…

Well I think it can do more than one wine. I think it’s always good to have a white wine and red wine because some people like one or the other, and either one of these if done well can pair perfectly with that holiday meal.

So my pick for the red wine, I actually have two of them: either petite pearl or both of these. M is made all for Marquette these wines are medium bodied reds, nice mouse mouth feel, and tannins that aren’t overwhelming and detract from all the food on your table. So my red pairing is Petite Pearl and M, but let’s go back to white.

I think it’s nice to have a white wine option too. My pick for this meal is Blue Moon, made primarily from Louise Swenson grapes. Earthy, has some nice acidity to it, doesn’t overwhelm all these amazing flavors, but pairs perfectly with everything on here from cranberries to the turkey. Even if you put cranberries on it, to the squash, so make your holiday wine pairing perfect with these amazing Wisconsin wines. Blue Moon, Petite Pearl, and M. Cheers and happy holidays!
