Top 5 Reasons to enjoy wine this Thanksgiving
Ever since being a kid, when Steve had his first tiny little glass of wine, Cella Lambrusco, at his grandparents at Thanksgiving, he has been fascinated by wine and it’s meaning in our culture.
Let us start by saying there are definitely more than 5 reasons to enjoy wine, but these 5 reasons really standout on the holiday of Thanksgiving.
Number 5: Wine slows down the process of eating and forces you to pace yourself and to be in the moment of enjoying the meal that took so many hours to prepare. Why devour it in 10 minutes? Even if you are a football fan like Steve, the enjoyment of the feast is worth the sacrifice of missing an extra 30 minutes of football viewing, yes, can’t believe Steve agrees with that!
Number 4: Meal enhancement. Wine compliments many foods. Now we could try to tell you that there is one wine that goes with every entrée, but it’s not possible. Also, at a meal where you have so many people, you are not going to please everyone equally with one wine. More later, regarding a few wine recommendations that will enhance your entrees and give everyone at least one or two wines that they can enjoy.
Number 3:Wine is a social beverage that softens the mood and tends to engage everyone in a little more interesting conversation. Wine nourishes the soul and can promote positive conversation.
Number 2: Wine represents tradition. Tradition and Thanksgiving are synonymous. The very first Thanksgiving consisted of 100% local products. The very first one took place from September 21 to November 9 in 1621. We suggest you continue this tradition and be like a Pilgrim 403 years ago by drinking truly local wine from Parallel 44 and Door 44 where every wine is made from grapes actually grown here in Wisconsin soil.

And the Number 1 reason to enjoy wine this Thanksgiving: Wine promotes the feeling of gratitude. Show your gratitude for your hosts and guests this Thanksgiving by bringing a bottle or two of wine from Parallel 44 and Door 44 that is award winning, food pairing friendly, and a true local ground to glass wine that celebrates the reason for the season, to enjoy the relationships that we are grateful for.
