It’s a Four-peat!!!!
We are proud to announce that we received the “Winery of the Year” for the fourth straight year at the 2025 International Cold Climate Wine Competition.
We are grateful for this recognition received in 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025. This award goes to the winery with the most medaled wines. This year it was 26 medals! Door 44 also received an additional 6 medals for a total of 32 medals.
We are also pleased to share this award with Ziegler Winery in Malone, which also received 26 medals. They are also pursuing the goal of defining true Wisconsin wine, wine that is not only made, but grown in our unique climate and soils.
This is the only competition exclusively dedicated to the wines made and grown in the Upper Midwest, Northeastern United States, and parts of Canada. The panel of 21 judges ranged from wine writers to sommeliers to winemakers evaluated over 343 wines.
Earlier this year, Parallel 44 & Door 44 also fared very well in the largest wine competition in North America, the San Francisco Wine Chronicle Competition. In that competition of over 5500 wins from 950 wineries we received the most medals for a winery outside of California.
We are not doing this just for us. The goal is to elevate the quality, style, and reputation of wine from this whole region which is now recognized as one of the newest wine appellations in America called the Wisconsin Ledge. While we produce the most “Wisconsin Ledge” wines, we want more and more wineries in the area to continue to grow their production of wines actually grown and produced in the very new wine region.
All the Best!
